Christmas Wish 2006 a HUGE Success

One of Orchard Community Ministries largest outreaches is the Christmas Wish Project. Christmas Wish Project started in 2003, when the Orchard Church contacted over 1200 households in Chapmantown and South Chico and offered to adopt them with Christmas groceries and gifts for children. Christmas Wish 2006 was our biggest outreach yet.

On December 20, over 370 kids and 106 families received gifts and food. Many families stated that this would be the only gifts available to their children. Christmas is about the gift of Christ, and the best way we have found to show the gift of Christ is by showing God's love in the practical way of providing a gift for a child. Many of these families will participate in the Orchard Church Christmas Eve service and hear of God's love for them. Our goal is to provide the hope of Christ to those who may be hopeless.

Our thanks are offered to the dozens of people who made this outreach possible. So many people helped by buying gifts, sponsoring financially, wrapping packages, delivering gifts. Thank you for showing the love of Christ to Chapmantown this year! Merry Christmas!!
